Bar 2A Ranch Haflingers in the services of the Canadian Armed Forces
Juri and Irinel are proud members of the 4th Canadian Ranger Patrol Group, a reserve unit of the Canadian Armed Forces which is composed of members who live and work in remote, isolated, and coastal regions of Canada.
They provide light-equipped, self-sufficient mobile forces to support Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) national security and public safety operations within Canada.
Unique within 4CRPG is the Ranger Patrol based out of Quesnel, BC, which has been tasked to build up a Centre of Excellence around mounted operations within the CAF.
Patrol members with various and rich equestrian backgrounds are jointly working on creating Standard Operation Procedures and Guidelines for the use of horses as well as training other members within the reserve and regular forces.
Canadian Rangers are supposed to provide their own equipment, hence Juri and Irinel provide their own horses, tack and transportation for all exercises or operations. Every horse used and compensated by the CAF has to meet certain criteria in order to be deemed usable.
Mounted Ranger tasks can include exercises such as Ex. Western Spirit, parades and Search & Rescue operations in difficult terrain.
